Moving Right Along

My jewellery bench has been seriously neglected the past month or so. It was hard to get into the groove after such a long break.

 'The Woodsman'
The other problem is I feel I have moved on from my earlier pieces and wanted my new jewellery to reflect the clothing I  have been making.

'Marion'
Cuffs are my favorite to make- I enjoy working with scrap leather.

 'Urban Robin Hood'
I remembered some of the cool costumes in the most recent Robin Hood movie with Cate Blanchett and Russell Crow- All that bound corsetry and leather armor. Sexy and tough.

Standard closure detail on 'Beaten'

 'Tangle'
Other shapes emerged and various techniques were explored.

'Stolen'
I'm partial to this one, above, because that's a found piece of metal sheet with numbers and letters carved into it. Black, masculine, found object and asymmetrical- that ticks all my boxes.
My bench is a mess again and it feels great.

They are incredible! And I have to say I'm partial to the last one too:-) Regarding the work bench - I can totally relate to that. It's been weeks since I got something done. I got distracted - the sunny weather, the bank the recent holidays...

Oh, and I recently had a visit from Petrena who found me through your blog..... she's won a prize but I don't have her email address to contact her. Can someone point her back to my found art blog please?! I need her snail mail address. Thanks!

I can see immediately that these will go with your clothing line. I'm also drawn to the last one.

Chic and masculine with that edgy feel that we have come to expect (and admire!) in work Don - great accessories for the clothes you have been designing. Carry on!

I love your tough urban style, and I'm sure you'll be successful in your designing endeavours. Who are you selling through? Because Perth guys are pretty trendy too, and I can see your look being very popular over here too!
Thanks so much for your comment on my shirt!
